Every few weeks we will highlight one of the AWESOME members of our Oakwood family. These amazing staff members give so much of themselves and they love what they do! So pull up a chair and get to know a little bit about our people!

Hey Everyone! I’m Michelle.

I’ve recently joined Oakwood, about 4 months ago, but it’s quickly become a very special place to me.
I started off at Town Center but recently got promoted and have found my home at Red Mountain. As
a cognitive teacher, I love getting conversations flowing and picking out topics for classes that engage
our members.

Last summer, I passed my state boards and became a nursing assistant. My plan was to continue in the medical field and become a nurse, but Oakwood has helped me realize my passion for social services.

Here’s a little more about me:

  • Who inspires you to be better? That’s a no brainer, my mom. Her patience, kindness, and faith encourages me to be my best self. There is nothing better then making the people who love you the most proud.

  • What would you rate 10/10? Lake Tahoe hands down is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places I’ve been to. It’s clear water and pine tops make for a great scenery for your next profile picture.

  • Where does true happiness come from? The cliche answer is the little things, but that’s absolutely true. A stranger giving you a kind smile, an old song with memories attached, dipping your fries in a chocolate shake.

  • What’s your day-to-day mantra? “Why stress if you can fix it” Life should be about enjoying ourselves in every stage and growing in the process.
