Spreading too much joy in their work as Oakwood Creative Care’s Board of Directors! Now, it’s up to YOU to help them raise bail so they can run free and get back to work serving those in need! Your Donation Matters

Each of Oakwood’s Board Members has put in years of dedication to supporting seniors living with cognitive and physical challenges, as well as their families and caregivers – but their work isn’t over yet!

A silver tsunami is quickly approaching, and Arizona is poised to have the fastest growth rate of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias in the country by 2025. Yet, with only 2% of philanthropic dollars directed to elderly care, families and caregivers are often left to fill in the gaps of a desperately underfunded healthcare system.

Additionally, Senior Living reports the average out-of-pocket cost of a private nursing home in the state of Arizona is approximately $8,213 a month. That means families and caregivers are expected to pay an average of $98,556 a year for housing and nursing care on top of the added costs of medications, deductibles, medical equipment, personal care products, and so much more.

With your donation, Oakwood Creative Care can continue to provide light, hope, and dignity beyond a diagnosis by expanding resources and support options available through our creative, wellness, and engagement programs. And more importantly, every $100 raised in bail funds will go directly towards covering a full day at one of Oakwood’s Day Clubs, where members find new friends, interests, talents, a safe and comfortable environment, and most importantly…JOY!

Donations made before April 15th, 2022, may be eligible for the Arizona tax credit if you pay state taxes. As a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO)*, any qualifying donations made to Oakwood Creative Care could be applied as a dollar-for-dollar state income tax reduction on your 2021 tax filing. This means your donation will come right back to you at tax time – a win-win for everyone! What You Need to Know:

Singles can give Oakwood Creative Care up to $400, and married couples can give $800.
You don’t need to itemize your taxes to take advantage of this opportunity.
You can simultaneously claim Public and Private Education Tax Credit.
You have until April 15 to make a donation that qualifies for the tax credit.

We're a nonprofit organization based in Mesa, Arizona with three senior day club locations (and a fourth on the way) which serve older adults with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and various other physical or cognitive challenges. Life does not end with a diagnosis. Our members continue to learn new skills, enjoy new discoveries, make friends, laugh, and live a joy-filled life. Our team of dementia experts lead support groups, events, classes, and private sessions with caregivers and families, guiding them on the best methods to care for their loved ones while also caring for themselves.
