A Socially Distant Fundraising Event
November 17, 2020

“Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference”   -Kathy Calvin

In case you missed it – we recently kicked off The Ultimate Joy-Filled *Socially Distant* Tailgate Party fundraising event at the Mesa Riverview Park.  We had a wonderful time seeing our Oakwood Creative Care supporters; members; family; and friends, and are so grateful for the community’s support to help us bring Joy into the lives of our members and their families and caregivers.

As a non-profit organization, we strive to make quality daytime care fun, enriching, and affordable to all Arizona adults who who need it. Although some of the cost of care is offset by members’ insurance, we rely on donations from the community to make up the difference.

One way that we raise funds for senior day care is through events. However, in this new age of COVID-19, we had to make some changes to what those events look like. In order to assure the safety of all of our event attendees, we decided to host our first socially distant event.

Thank you to our sponsors, attendees, and those who donated

Together, we were able to raise over $37,000 to help provide care for seniors in Arizona with Alzheimers, dementia, effects of stroke, and other age-related difficulties.

We’d like to give an extra-special THANK YOU to our event sponsors: Guild Mortgage, Area Agency on Aging, Region One, Crescent Crown DistributingSheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West, Knipp Construction, Ke Wealth Advisors, Aqua Therapy Tubs, Streamline Development, and The City of Mesa.

A few snapshots from the event…

Check out a few of the photos captured at the event! We had a trunk decorating contest, live music by the Walt Richardson Trio, a delicious dinner from Jalapeno Bucks, and dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Don’t Miss Out!

We have so many opportunities for FUN for all ages! From parties and events, to virtual painting and cooking classes. Check out what’s upcoming here.

Welcome

We're a nonprofit organization based in Mesa, Arizona with three senior day club locations (and a fourth on the way) which serve older adults with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and various other physical or cognitive challenges. Life does not end with a diagnosis. Our members continue to learn new skills, enjoy new discoveries, make friends, laugh, and live a joy-filled life. Our team of dementia experts lead support groups, events, classes, and private sessions with caregivers and families, guiding them on the best methods to care for their loved ones while also caring for themselves.
