New Year’s Resolutions
December 30, 2021

Cheers to the New Year!

We are so excited to be ringing in the New Year and cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store for the Oakwood Creative Care family and all of our members!

Like many of you, we have been busy crafting our New Year’s resolution plans with visions full of a future dedicated to spreading joy, creativity, and accomplishing exciting new goals.

Recently, our Engagement Specialists sat down with some of our club members to invite them into tradition and ask them that oh so familiar question: “What is your New Year’s resolution?”

Oftentimes, we associate our New Year’s resolutions with common propositions like hitting the gym more often, but for some of Oakwood’s members, their visions offered a refreshing and optimistic new outlook for the future.

When asked about their hopes for 2022, members responded with thoughtful and heartfelt resolutions that included:

  • Calling their children more often
  • Having great strength
  • Keeping all of the good friends they have
  • Being more helpful to their spouses
  • Waking up each day
  • Wanting everyone around them to be happy

The Power Of Giving Back

It’s moments like these, when we’re busy making all of the big plans for the future to come, when our members remind us to reflect on some of what matters most – savoring each and every moment, living a life full of purpose and hope, and spreading joy to those around us.

From everyone at Oakwood Creative Care, we wish you a very Happy New Year and cannot wait to see all of your resolutions come to life!

Welcome

We're a nonprofit organization based in Mesa, Arizona with three senior day club locations (and a fourth on the way) which serve older adults with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and various other physical or cognitive challenges. Life does not end with a diagnosis. Our members continue to learn new skills, enjoy new discoveries, make friends, laugh, and live a joy-filled life. Our team of dementia experts lead support groups, events, classes, and private sessions with caregivers and families, guiding them on the best methods to care for their loved ones while also caring for themselves.
