Join Oakwood For National Volunteer Week
April 8, 2024

We need your help! Oakwood Creative Care’s mission is to enhance the quality of life and spark joy for older adults living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, and other similar disease. For the last 47 years, we have expanded our work through three Adult Day Club locations, memory cafés, and other home and community-based services. But we still have a lot of work to do, and Oakwood Creative Care is always looking to expand our family and include generous volunteers from within our community! So, in honor of National Volunteer Week, will you answer the call to help spark JOY for older adults with cognitive or physical challenges?

When Is National Volunteer Week?

Mesa Leadership Class 2024 volunteer week of their time to revamping Oakwood Creative Care Day Club's garden and patio.

As part of Global Volunteer Month, National Volunteer Week will take place this year between April 21st – 27th. This week offers the chance to highlight and recognize volunteers who so selflessly give their time and energy to supporting change and movement within their community. Whether by using their voice, talents, or hours of labor, volunteers are the ones who help to build stronger foundations for the causes that mean the most to them.

Welcome

We're a nonprofit organization based in Mesa, Arizona with three senior day club locations (and a fourth on the way) which serve older adults with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and various other physical or cognitive challenges. Life does not end with a diagnosis. Our members continue to learn new skills, enjoy new discoveries, make friends, laugh, and live a joy-filled life. Our team of dementia experts lead support groups, events, classes, and private sessions with caregivers and families, guiding them on the best methods to care for their loved ones while also caring for themselves.
